National Magnet School of Excellence Award
For the 3rd Consecutive Year, JY Joyner has been recognized as a National Magnet School of Excellence by the Magnet Schools of America. This is the highest award level a school can attain and each year less than 60 schools in the entire country are recognized at this level. We are truly appreciative to all who have made this recognition possible. It is a very well-deserved honor for our school and school community.
Joyner Mural Wall
Come see our new mural!! Joyner students have worked hard on this campus beautification project! The 4th and 5th graders have all painted a block of the mural outside the kindergarten hallway facing Noble Rd. The back of the mural says "Go Jaguars." Teachers have also painted in blocks of the mural. Thank you Mr. Fotta (our Art Teacher) for this PAW-some project. ![]()
Help Heal Haiti

You may recall that our Third Grade team went to Belize last year to provide books, playground equipment, and personal hygiene items to impoverished students. This year, we are happy to say that about 15 Joyner teachers, assistants, spouses and parents will be traveling to Haiti in June, 2011. They will be taking hygiene kits and school kits with them for the victims of the earthquake.
