National Magnet School of Excellence Award For the 3rd Consecutive Year, JY Joyner has been recognized as a National Magnet School of Excellence by the Magnet Schools of America. This is the highest award level a school can attain and each year less than 60 schools in the entire country are recognized at this level. We are truly appreciative to all who have made this recognition possible. It is a very well-deserved honor for our school and school community.

Tuesday-Wear Crazy Mismatched Socks! Those Fox in Socks come up with some really silly rhymes!
Wednesday-Who YOU are! The Sneetches learn a lesson about individuality in this Dr. Seuss book! Wear something to school that shows us who you are; or what you like to do; or where you are from!
Thursday-Baby Picture! Horton Hatches the Egg is a tale of an elephant that helps lazy Mayzie! Bring in 1 baby picture to share with your classmates!
Friday—Hat Day! That Cat in the Hat always has his hat. Show us yours! Wear a hat to school!
Help Heal Haiti! You may recall that our Third Grade team went to Belize last year to provide books, playground equipment, and personal hygiene items to impoverished students. This year, we are happy to say that about 15 Joyner teachers, assistants, spouses and parents will be traveling to Haiti over Spring Break. They will be taking hygiene kits and school kits with them for the victims of the earthquake.
Convenient Lunch Payment Option:Parents can now deposit funds into their child’s lunch account anytime they want from their home computer. Parents can even set their accounts to be used for “meals only” or to include snacks and á la carte items.
To get started, parents must enroll at www.myLunchMoney.com. Parents will need their child’s NCWISE number to enroll. This number can be found on their child’s report card or schedule.
Field Trip Payment Options
New this year! Parents will have the option to pay for field trips online. Click here and then select Elementary, select Joyner and then choose the teacher/activity. It's as easy as making an online purchase from your own home.
